Abstract: Eosinophilic gastrointestinal diseases (EGIDs) are chronic, progressive, immune-mediated inflammatory conditions. Its delayed diagnosis and treatment are often due to the lack of specific clinical manifestations. Klebsiella pneumoniae is usually considered normal flora of the gut and rarely causes intestinal infections. In this case report, we present a rare case of intestinal mucosal exfoliation associated with K. pneumoniae infection following eosinophilic enteritis, which was cured by intravenous levofloxacin and oral prednisone acetate and montelukast. This case highlights the importance of considering these conditions in patients presenting with clinical diarrhea when the cause of the disease can not be found and enhancing disease understanding.
